Clifton Anderson specializes in the material culture of the Ohio River Valley from the early Republic's Western frontier period through the 20th century. I have dealt in Kentucky art and antiques since 1973, which has afforded me a unique perspective of the region's fine and decorative arts. Marianne Ramsey has joined this venture, which greatly strengthens our research and object documentation, and adds a needed organizational component to the business. We believe that our inventory has examples, which are among the better regional fine and decorative arts to be found in the marketplace today. We strive to handle the best examples available and are always interested in the purchase of Kentucky art and antiques, where discretion is assured.
Marianne Ramsey is an interior designer and Professor Emeritus of Interior Design at Eastern Kentucky University where she taught courses in the history of design and interior design studio. Her research on early Kentucky furniture and cabinetmakers—conducted with Clifton Anderson—has resulted in numerous presentations, exhibitions, and publications. Their most recent research efforts include an in-depth study, documentation and analysis of early Kentucky inlaid furniture.
